The Pomegranate Retreat, Turkey, with Gerry Kielty
11 - 18 May 2015
A typical day involves four hours of yoga, three healthy shared meals, and in between plenty of time to relax, read and enjoy optional extras such as massages and excursions. The gentle pace of each day means you can tailor the retreat to yourself, whether you want to be sociable or quiet, adventurous or more reflective. A retreat in every sense of the word, this week away from day-to-day life will leave you recharged and re-energised, with a more profound connection to your yoga practice.
The yoga taught on this retreat is open to all abilities, and under Gerry's careful tuition you will explore and discover new areas of your practice as well as build upon your strength and knowledge. With a 2hr class in the morning and another in the afternoon, after six days you will surprise yourself with the positive changes to your body and mind.
Each session takes place in the yoga shala amidst orange and lemon trees, fully equipped with mats, bolsters, blocks, belts and blankets.
The hotel and surrounding area
The hotel is named after the fruit, its health giving properties and mythological associations with natural cycles, rebirth and renewal. The Pomegranate has been designed with great attention and care, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with plenty of room for unwinding and sunbathing around the pool or curling up with a book in the large and mature gardens.
Located on Turkey’s famous ‘Turquoise Coast’, just twenty minutes southeast of Olu Deniz, The Pomegranate is surrounded by rural scenery and small farms. It has lovely views over the sea, and is backed by mountains, where the well-known Lycian Trail has marked paths to take you through the forests and mountains. A rocky swimming cove is within half an hours walking distance, and lovely beaches are just a short ride away. Take a look at the hotel's website.
