Jane Damer

Jane was lucky enough to be introduced to yoga whilst still at school by her then English teacher in 1983. Following a spinal fracture about a year later she used yoga and cycling to help the rehabilitation process and continued to attend classes thereafter over many years.  

It was not until 1998 after discovering Gerry's classes that the interest really began to grow. Initial foundation training for one year in 2004 with the British Wheel helped deepen interest and motivation to train to be a teacher. Completion of the first teacher training diploma delivered by Gerry in 2009 was a very natural progression thereafter and since qualifying she has been teaching at balance and elsewhere ever since.  

Jane has an open minded approach to the practice and not rigid to one style, continuously drawing on influences gained through time spent studying at home or on travels with many well known yoga teachers. She also has a particular interest in intuitive adjustments and keen to continue learning in this area.

Jane also works part time in the field of sports and physical activity development, continues to cycle and loves to spend time in the mountains.
Laughter and fun are a big part of her yoga teaching style and she thoroughly enjoys teaching at a local level. Jane continues to attend Gerry's class most weeks as a student herself.
