 Where do I start? 

Learning something new can be daunting especially if it is physical. If you’re unsure whether yoga can help you, call our reception team and have a chat. We’re a friendly bunch and all have experience of yoga that will help point you in the right direction. We’ve tailored a number of options for those looking to try yoga for the first time.

In Person classes are back.  We have beginner yoga Monday 18:30 – 19:30 pm and Thursday 17:15 – 18:15 pm.  These are drop in classes but must be booked in advance.  One of our most experienced teachers Maureen Smith will conduct these classes.  Additional classes and courses will be scheduled in due course.



About Gerry Kielty, Principal Yoga Teacher


Gerry Kielty Principal Yoga teacher and founder of the balance yoga studio, is an expert in teaching beginners yoga classes in Glasgow. He has 25 years experience working with students of all ages and abilities. Teaching classes as well as individual private lessons, Gerry has a disciplined attention to detail. The faces of students before and after class speak for themselves.

First qualified as an Iyengar Teacher in 1995, Gerry latterly studied and taught Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. He was fortunate to have studied both with BKS Iyengar and Shri. K. Pattabhi Jois.

Over the years Gerry has developed his own style of unique sequencing that focuses on precision and alignment. Integrated with a steady asana flow, his emphasis is that yoga practice should feel therapeutic. The balance approach is enthusiastic, encouraging and tinged with an all important sense of humour!

Yoga is a journey and with the wealth of teaching experience at balance, you will practice safely with adjustments and modifications.
