Yoga Workshops in Glasgow with Cameron MacInnes

Cameron MacInnes

We are delighted to welcome Cameron MacInnes to balance on Saturday 29 September and Sunday 30 September 2018 to teach four yoga workshops in Glasgow. Each workshop costs £30.

Supercharge Your Yoga | Hip Opening

Modern life can often lead to tightness and reduced range of motion in our hips. Hip opening postures help to create agility throughout the whole body and bring balance from your core. Open hips can allow you to achieve more powerful warrior postures, get deeper into twists, facilitate arm balances, and feel lighter in inversions.
This workshop is open to all levels provided you have at least some experience in yoga. Modifications and more advanced options will be offered so that each posture is accessible to everyone.

Supercharge Your Yoga | Pranayama

Pranayama means control of the breath and is one of the most important tools in yoga, as well as having an impact on your quality of life when employed correctly.
Learn how to breathe in your regular yoga classes to get more enjoyment from your practice, find more depth in postures and feel more strength and stamina. Also learn the therapeutic benefits of the various breathing techniques for a multitude of issues including fatigue, stress, anxiety, high/low blood pressure, insomnia, excess heat/cold, vitality, relaxation, circulation, lung capacity and preparation for meditation.
We will also go through a sequence of postures to be able to sit comfortably for pranayama and to open around the lungs to facilitate deeper breathing.
This workshop is open to all levels including complete beginners.

Supercharge Your Yoga | Backbending

Learn how to practise backbending safely and correctly so that it can be exhilarating, build courage, open the heart, boost energy, maintain health of the spine, facilitate deep breathing, strengthen the legs and improve the functioning of the digestive system.
This workshop is open to all levels provided you have at least some experience in yoga. Modifications and more advanced options will be offered so that each posture is accessible to everyone.

Supercharge Your Yoga | Yin Yoga

End this workshop series by melting into your connective tissues to bring opening, relaxation and tranquillity, and to balance out the activation of the morning’s backbending session. The practice of yin yoga helps to increase joint mobility, create length and get rid of toxins. On a more energetic level, yin yoga helps to reduce stress, improve the heart and lung function, nourish the organs through stimulation of the meridian energy channels, and turn off the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight response) whilst activating the parasympathetic nervous system (rest, digest and rebuild). Yin yoga helps to uncover the more hidden, inner aspects of yoga which often become the more intriguing aspects for more experienced practitioners. But equally Yin Yoga is an excellent gateway for beginners as it is slow, easy to follow and provides a solid basis for a yoga practice.
This workshop is open to all levels. Modifications and more advanced options will be offered so that each posture is accessible to everyone.
