We are truly thrilled to have found such a beautiful venue which we are sure you will love. It’s a very special place – we would go as far to say unique – with its combination of complete seclusion (you feel as if you are on the edge of the known world) and yet
accessible, situated on the edge of a traditional rural village with bus connections for getting out and about if you wish. It has unbeatable views, comfortable well-appointed accommodation, a pool and a fully equipped yoga shala. Not to mention the delicious meals for which Turkey, and Huzur Vadisi in particular, are renowned.
The Venue
Lagoon Retreat is located in an elevated position in a forested conservation area overlooking the Sülüngür Lagoon with spectacular views across the beautiful Dalyan delta and Istuzu beach. The utter peace and privacy of the venue, immersed in nature, creates a wonderful atmosphere conducive to your yoga practice. Forest bathe, inhale the vital prana, tune into birdsong and the hum of cicadas. A private beach on the lagoon can be reached by a 15-minute (steepish) walk through the forest. You will need good shoes or walking sandals and be reasonably fit to go up and down, but it’s well worth it!
Accomodation
There are eleven air-conditioned ensuite bedrooms suitable for single, double or twin accommodation, some with balconies, and forest views. Ian, your host, is one of the founding partners of Huzur Vadisi over thirty years ago. He has a fantastic fund of local knowledge, which combined with his long experience of creating and hosting yoga venues will guarantee your retreat runs smoothly and enjoyably.
A NOTE ON MOBILITY
The venue is sited around a hill and has steps, particularly up to the yoga shala which has views from the top of the site. So please take this into consideration if you have joint or mobility issues.
Yoga
The retreat includes six, 1.5 hr morning classes and four, 1.15 hour afternoon classes with two afternoons off.
Meals
Meals are vegetarian by default, served buffet style with fresh local produce, and include breakfast and dinner. The meals are healthy and varied, with plenty of choice. We can cater for gluten and dairy free diets and for medical allergies. However, we regret we can’t cater for personal preferences or complicated special diets. One night a week dinner is eaten out, usually on excursion day.
Flight and Transfer Information
Dalaman airport is 30 minutes from the Retreat.
Prices
Single Occupancy from £1045 – £1250, Shared Occupancy £875 – £1055. Prices vary pending room. Rooms can be single, twin, double or dormitory (max four persons).
- Prices (from your teacher) include 7-nights accommodation, breakfast & dinner, unlimited fruit, water, teas and coffee. Ingredients for ‘help yourself’ light lunches are provided in the guest kitchen, you can also make yourself a packed lunch if required.
- Included in price – Accommodation, meals (breakfast and dinner) and yoga sessions.
- Not included – alcoholic or soft drinks, excursions, flights, transfers from Dalaman airport (30 minutes & approximately £45 return depending on numbers) and one dinner out on excursion day.
Bookings
What is included in the price: accommodation, 10 x yoga classes & all meals are included except one evening when the group goes on an optional excursion). Flights are not included in the price of the retreat and must be booked separately.
Places are offered on a first come first serve basis. A payment of £200 deposit is required to secure a place, and accommodation preference. The remaining balance is due by Friday 02nd February 2024.
All participants please ensure that you have travel insurance. It is a condition of booking, that you take out travel insurance to cover cancellation and other eventualities.
If cancellation is made once booked prior to the start of the retreat, a full refund (less £100 non refundable) can be issued if a replacement student can be found. Once the retreat has begun no refunds or credits will be issued. Refunds (less non-refundable payment) can only be given if a replacement student can be found.
