A less traditional class that focuses on practicing the basic sequences and poses of Ashtanga Vinyasa. This class introduces the basic breathing techniques and poses incorporated in the flowing sequence for the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. Expect a dynamic and flowing class. Taught by Lorraine Allan.
Ashtanga Vinyasa: Explorations
This dynamic class deconstructs the postures of the Primary Series up to Navasana (boat pose), taking a closer look at what is happening in each pose, externally as well as internally and how they build on each other. You will playfully experience the interplay of foundation, balance, strength and flexibility in each of the postures. This class is suitable for those who are completely new to Ashtanga as well as those who have some experience and would like to revisit the postures of the first half of the Primary Series. Taught by Sue Crow.
Ashtanga Yoga: Short Forms
One hour traditional counted led Half Ashtanga Primary Series up to Navasana (boat pose). The teacher will count and talk through the Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) A&B, the standing, seated and finishing sequence. Some demonstrations and adjustments are given when needed. The count will set the pace of this one hour class. This class is suitable for students of all levels of experience. Taught by Sue Crow.
